Metal Works
Did you know Upson Company has a metal brake in-house at the warehouse in Caldwell? Upson Company can
custom bend any metal for any project: be it flat sheets, roofing panels, gutter down spouts, coping cap, flashings or
drip metals. Commercial projects keep us the busiest, but we are no stranger to residential endeavors or others
specials projects. Purchased in 1997, our metal break has been pumping out custom metal jobs at a consistent rate at
times business was so good it created such a back log that jobs had to be turned away.
Upson Company’s ability to customize any project will give an end results that will definitely be one of-kind. Custom
gutters and down spouts are a specially and no angle or flow is too complicated. If you have an unusual roof line or
specialty windows coping cap, drip metal or flashing can create a unifying solution.
Our metal foreman, Cameron Bowman, has 29 years of roofing and metal braking experience. Not only can he make anything out of metal, but if he’s assigned to install metal on your roof it will look amazing. A true “metal whisperer,” Cameron is one of those guys that crews fight over if they have simultaneous metal jobs. Cameron’s skills don’t stop at metal roofing projects. He’s also had the pleasure of building a copper fountain and restoring an old cast-iron and porcelain stove.
Metal is one of those time-honored materials that last for what seems like an eternity. With a variety of colors and styles to choose from it is a designers dream. And with proven sustainability metal that is properly maintained will endure throughout the years. So even though metal might be a more expensive option it will be a higher quality option with great longevity and uniqueness.
Maintenance technicians inspect metal roofs twice a year. If it is a hidden fastener system they check to make sure all the joints are sealed properly. If it is an exposed fastener system they replace the rubber washers as needed and tighten or replace screws as necessary. Leaves left on metal roofs speed up rust, so they remove leaves and any other debris. Scratches on metal also speed up rust and need to be repaired – they do that too. In the fall, technicians inspect snow rails and repair or replace as needed to maintain integrity – we can’t have falling snow be a liability for our customers.
Upson Company gets our metal from distributers who have proven their consistency with delivery, product and warranty. Not only does the manufacturer warranty their material and Upson’s craftsmanship but so does Upson Company. A minimum one-year workmanship warranty accompanies all job closings. We believe our craftsmanship, and not just for metal work, but all installation work, should have at least a one-year warranty. If it’s not right we want to make it right. And if for some reason there is a product defect Upson Company helps our customers through the process of filing a claim with the manufacturer.
